Ferrotitanium med høj renhedindeholder også urenheder som aluminium, silicium, kulstof, svovl, fosfor og mangan. Anvendes som deoxideringsmiddel, afsvovlingsmiddel, afgasningsmiddel og legeringsmiddel i stålfremstilling. Det tilsættes stål som et legeringselement under stålfremstillingsprocessen for at forfine de strukturelle korn, fiksere interstitielle elementer (C, N) og forbedre stålets styrke.
